Suzuki, 100 kg of waste collected in the Colonnetti park along with Torino FC

TORINO (ITALPRESS) – “Suzuki Italia is sensitive to the call of our planet and responds concretely, as the DNA of our company and history wants”. So Massimo Nalli, president of Suzuki Italy, who today used gloves, pliers and bags together with more than a hundred people including young players of Torino Fc, employees of the company and volunteers of Torino Spazio Pubblico, for the initiative ‘We give a kick to the waste’ organized in the Colonnetti park of Turin, in the adjacent area the Bosco del Toro born last year. A participatory and shared collection that, at the end of the morning, produced almost one hundred pounds of waste collected, to leave this clove of city cleaner than before. This event is part of the ‘Suzuki Save the Green’ programme. This is not the only way Suzuki Italia is committed to protecting the environment. Another directly concerns bees, whose function is essential for pollination. “This is why we have created small oasis that allow bees to find a flower from the first days of February until the late autumn – says Nalli – We did it in our town where there is the seat of the Italian Suzuki, but also the dealers of all the rest of the country, who also contributed to the birth of an extended wood of 1400 cherries.”.

For Torino Calcio, the testimonial of the initiative at Colonnetti park was Alessandro Gazzi, a former grenade player: “It is important to bring new generations closer to environmental sustainability and to a certain type of ethics that has to do with a cleaner world and cares for itself,” Gazzi explained. Hamamatsu’s home puts in place several projects to improve the balance between environment and mobility. Among these is the ‘Suzuki Green Friday’ which celebrates Black Friday and devolves 0.5% of daily turnover in favor of an initiative linked to sustainability: in recent months, in the Toro Forest 68 autochthonous trees were planted, near the headquarters of the youths of the Granata society. Then there are the initiatives ‘Pulifondali’ and ‘Pulispiagge’, organized together with the Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities on the occasion of the World Environment Day (5 June), which aims to recover waste above and below the sea level in 21 beaches and seabeds of the Italian coast. But there is also another project on which Suzuki Italia has committed itself. “It concerns the sea, which is the origin of our lives and which we clean thanks to a patent called ‘Lava l’acqua’, which filters the water of the sea before returning it to the sea, after the Suzuki outboard engine was cooled – added Nalli – This patent was made available free of charge to all marine engine builders and also to washing machine manufacturers, one of the main sources of microheplastics.”.
