ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Italian Federation Taekwondo (FITA) wins the top of the World Taekwondo Member National Associations (MNA) world ranking, exceeding 215 national federations with a score of 80,5 out of 100 points. A primacy that is worth more than any medal: it certifies the excellence of the system-Italy not only in competitions, but in the entire organizational and institutional model. The World Taekwondo ranking is based on five evaluation areas: Governance (MNA Survey 2026), Participation, Performance, Events and Sustainability. A measuring system that captures the overall solidity of a national federation, well beyond sports results. Behind Italy are the United States, France, Great Britain and South Korea.
“I am happy for the whole movement of the Italian taekwondo and proud of all those who daily work to achieve these results, from the organizational sector to the technical one”, said the federal president Angelo Cito, who also thanked the Ministry of Sport, Sport and Health and the CONI for the support guaranteed to the national sports institutions.
“Recognition – concludes the note – takes on a specific weight considering the global dimensions of the discipline: over 80 million practitioners worldwide and a constantly expanding network. Italy confirms itself as an international point of reference, a model to follow both on the competitive and on the institutional level”.
