I am here to bring Italy’s solidarity and closeness to Lebanon and the Lebanese people who are involved in a war.” This is how Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, at the press conference in Beirut, Lebanon, after the bilateral meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. “For us it is essential to support the Lebanese institutions in office, starting with President Aoun” and “we also want to support the strengthening of the organization of the Lebanese military forces through our bilateral mission” and “the civilian population, especially the displaced: we have already sent the first important contribution and intend to do so again, using also the Fao”, he added.
