ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The policies of the DIGOS of Genoa, the Financial Economic Police Nucleus of the Guardia di Finanza of Genoa and the Special Nucleus of the Police Currency of the Guardia di Finanza have given execution to an order of application of precautionary measures (personal and real, the latter for an amount of more than eight million euros) in respect of nine inquiries all of the custody in prison and tredice.
The precautionary measures were issued within an investigation, which took advantage of the significant support and competences of the Police Forces, initiated and coordinated by the Anti-Mafia and Anti-terrorism Directorate of Genoa following the impetus of the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-terrorism Direction, originating from the analysis of reports of financial operations suspended. Investigators are accused of being part of and having funded Hamas. The financing of terrorist activities is carried out through various associations.
In particular, financing operations are charged to them, which is believed to have contributed significantly to the activities of the terrorist organization, for a total of approximately seven million euros carried out also through triangulation operations through bank transfers or with other arrangements for through associations based in the East in favour of associations based in Gaza, in the Palestinian Territories or in Israel, declared illegal by the State of Israel, because they belong, however, to subsidiaries.
This support also concerned the sustenance of the family members of persons involved in terrorist attacks against civilians or relatives of prisoners for crimes with the purpose of terrorism, sustenance that strengthened the intention of an indefinite number of HAMAS members to join the terrorist strategy and the cryminous program of the organization, also carrying out suicide terrorist attacks.
Between the investigations of a member of the foreign sector of the terrorist organization, member of the board of directors of the European Palestinians Conference, seriously suspected, of being a top member of the terrorist organization HAMAS, of having, in the collection of funds indicated as for humanitarian purposes for the Palestinian population, a significant part (more than 71%) of these funds to direct financing of HAMAS or of associations connected to it or controlled by it.
The investigation began after the terrorist attack attributed to HAMAS on October 7, 2023, thanks to the impetus of the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-terrorism Direction, originating from the analysis of a series of reports for suspicious financial operations identified before October 7, 2023, concerning some of the inquiries and the quoted Abspp.
The survey made it possible to ascertain that HAMAS has been endowed with a foreign sector and peripheral joints operating with the specific purpose of promoting the image of the organization and, above all, to contribute to its financing, which is an essential condition for it to exist, develop and try to achieve its aims. A.B.S.P.P. can be considered one of these joints operating in Italy and participates, with other similar associations, of a European network that operates coordinating with the decision-making structure of the organization “madre”.
According to the accusative thesis, according to the evidence collected in years of investigation, the inquiries were consciously responsible for removing capital from the welfare purposes of da’wa (treatment of the activities carried out by the organization in the areas of religion, education, welfare and health in order to create firm links with the Palestinian population) in favor of direct financing of the terrorist organization and its criminal activities.
Jihad and the related roles and tasks of the investigators openly refer to some intercepted conversations. Analogue considerations can be derived from the examination of a document, which is internal to HAMAS, which illustrates in detail the activities carried out by the organization that aim to conquer the heart and convert people, obtain support and recruit new activists of the movement.
The activities described are numerous and range from educational to those closely related to the military sector: In fact, they are part of the field fromwa the training activities of young people for future leadership roles within HAMAS, those carried out in the student sector in the Military Field of students (Command Training Institute), education on the status of martyrs and prisoners, the symposium on Jihad and the holy warriors of the organization. These activities are carried out thanks to the contribution of HAMAS charity associations. Such communications demonstrate the existence of an extensive international network of subjects/institutions engaged in fundraising, apparently to be allocated for beneficial purposes and to support the Palestinian population and cause. A.B.S.P.P. and A.B.S.P.P. O.D.V. and their employees/workers constitute the Italian articulation of this network.

“It is a very important and significant operation that was completed this morning by the State Police and the Finance Guard with the arrest of nine people, including the most famous Mohammad Hannoun. Even with the necessary presumption of innocence that must always be recognized at this stage, the veil of behaviour and activity has been torn, which, behind the paravent of initiatives for the Palestinian populations, concealed support and participation in organizations with real terrorist purposes of Islamist matrix. Thanks to the professionalism of the police officers of the Central Direction of the Prevention Police, our “anti-terrorism”, and the specialized nuclei of the Guardia di Finanza have been able to reconstruct contacts and financial flows on an international scale: the new demonstration of the skills and investigative capabilities of our police forces that are confirmed among the best in the world. I am grateful to the Chief of Police, to the National Anti-Terror Prosecutor and to the magistrates of the Genoa District Direction for how they coordinated such professionalism, contributing to the development of an investigation of extraordinary importance.
