ROMA (ITALPRESS) – 2025 is the new record year of tourism in Rome. To certify it are the data of the Bilaterale del Turismo del Lazio: arrivals from January to December last were 22,9 million, of which 12 million from abroad, with 52,92 million attendances, respectively +3,42% and +2,87% on the previous historical record of 2024.
“We are happy and proud of this new record – says Mayor Roberto Gualtieri -, it was an intense, challenging but very positive year for the city at every point of view. I want to thank the Honored Councillor for his work: tourism is an industry that generates induced, jobs and that aims to drive the relaunch of the Capital, in the sign of intelligent, inclusive and sustainable growth”.
“It is no coincidence that every year we update the record of arrivals and attendance – adds Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for the Great Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Rome Capital – but it is the result of a strategy. Precise choices we have made, focusing on the set of great events that offer an extra reason to return to Rome or to extend your stay. Tourism brings wealth to businesses and citizens, so much so that in 2024 according to Il Sole 24 Hours has generated €13.3 billion on the territory, and creates new jobs, with the occupation that in the last three years has grown of 5.5% year in year. We are working to continue to develop tourism and make it increasingly compatible with the city and residents: visitors must leave more than they have found in Rome.”.
