The 6th Opes Sports Grand Gala kicks off.

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Once again this year, close to the holiday season, OPES initiated the Gala Dello Sport. The now customary and well-attended event is now in its sixth edition. For 2024, the concept that characterized the event can be traced back to the Sports Community project, especially the outcome of the fourth Community of Practice (five in total): “To promote and enhance success stories in the territory in order to develop a shared vision of the social and economic value of sport, as a tool for dialogue and shared growth.” With this in mind, OPES has therefore identified four manifesto realities: Lega Unica, Academy ProAbile, Roma Blind Football and Ledesma Academy. Representatives, members and delegates of the individual associations took turns on the stage, alongside journalists Simona Rolandi and Lorenzo Donzelli, to share their adherence and commitment to what the COP subject of the initiative highlighted. “Once again this year,” said President Juri Morico, “the Sports Gala has embraced an initiative that we believe can have interesting repercussions on the social fabric and is indicative of our commitment to identify an innovative modus operandi, an approach that is in a small way revolutionary. We start from our own project, from a product that we know well and export good practices. We are confident that this edition, which takes its cue from an output of a project such as ‘Sports Community’, defined by many as a model, can open doors and engage stakeholders, friends and partners. With this particular evening, we kick off a new cycle of the Sports Gala, increasingly a generator of value and opportunity.” During the afternoon, the first National Council of the new course took place (last Dec. 1, Juri Morico was confirmed as national president of OPES following the body’s 12th elective assembly), and other internal activities related to the ongoing AttivAzione and Winner projects also held the spotlight. Before the usual convivial moment, the OPES Sports Gala was opened by greetings and high-profile speeches by: Giovanni Malagò, president of CONI; Silvia Salis, deputy vice president of CONI; Beniamino Quintieri, president of ICSC; Wanda Ferro, undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior; Flavio Siniscalchi, head of the Department of Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers; and Nicola Procaccini, co-chair of ECR Group. “Opes is celebrating its leaders, its athletes, its coaches and all those who have made this journey. It seems to me that year after year it is an entity that is growing and is working well with a great presence in the territory -the words of Coni President Giovanni Malagò. There is a healthy dose of ambition but also humility on the part of those who work there. We recognize this because they value the whole system.” – Photo Spf/Italpress -(ITALPRESS).
