MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The BMW Art Car World Tour arrives in Milan, at the ADI Design Museum, marking a fundamental stage in the celebrations of the fifty years of artistic innovation of the collection. From 4 December 2025 to 8 January 2026, visitors can admire eight iconic BMW Art Cars made by internationally renowned artists such as Alexander Calder, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein and Esther Mahlangu. After stopping at Art Basel Hong Kong, at Le Mans Classic in France, at the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium and in many other countries around the world, the BMW Art Car World Tour will end this year in Milan, then continue in 2026 towards Rètromobile in Paris.
“Celebrating the 50 years of BMW Art Cars is an authentic privilege and a great emotion for us, because it allows us to witness our commitment in the world of art and design, which in Italy finds its ideal setting”, said Massimiliano Di Silvestre, Chairman and CEO of BMW Italia. “Exposing eight cars to the ADI Design Museum in Milan also means hosting the stage with the largest number of BMW Art Cars present on the world tour for the anniversary 2025: a strong signal of our commitment and our willingness to share the values of the brand with fans, customers, media and partners.”.
“The presence of the BMW Art Cars at the ADI Design Museum highlights how the project has become in fifty years a privileged observatory on relations between art, industry and material culture. Bringing these works to Milan means offering a concrete look on how design can become a place of critical interpretation of the present, as well as of formal innovation. We are proud to offer the city and the international public the possibility to live closely these extraordinary “sculptures in motion”, testimony of how design can generate visions that go through time and continue to inspire the future”, said Luciano Galimberti, President ADI Design Museum.
“To see and be able to live near the BMW Art Cars at the ADI Design Museum is a dream come true,” said Thomas Girst, Head of BMW Group Corporate Engagement. “I am deeply proud and enthusiastic about the way Italy is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the BMW Art Car series with an extraordinary exhibition, capable of bringing together not only design and art lovers, but also those of motorsport, technology and lifestyle.”.
The Italian stage of the Art Car World Tour was inaugurated at the Concorso d’Eleganza 2025, where the BMW Art Car signed by Sandro Chia was presented together with the entire collection of BMW Art Car miniatures and a photographic exhibition dedicated to the series, created by Renè Staud. Located in the heart of Milan, the world capital of fashion and design, the ADI Design Museum will offer the ideal setting to exhibit, at the end of the year, eight cars from the famous collection: Alexander Calder, BMW 3.0 CSL (1975); Frank Stella, BMW 3.0 CSL (1976); Roy Lichtenstein, BMW 320i Turbo (1977); Esther Mahlangu, BMW 525i (1991); Sandro Chia, BMW M3 GTR (1992); Jenny Holzer, BMW V12 LMR (1999); Jeff Koons, BMW M3 GT2 (2010); Julie Mehretu, BMW Mbrid V8 (2024).
