The events of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World ended in Washington

With an exclusive dinner at Villa Firenze, yesterday the cycle of events organized by the Italian Embassy in Washington to celebrate the X edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World ended. “Celebrating the Week of Italian Cuisine here in the United States means contributing to make the American public know even better our agro-food excellences and the principles of the Mediterranean Diet”, commented the Italian Ambassador in the United States, Marco Peronaci. Recalling the words of the Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tajani on the universality of the language of Italian cuisine, Peronaci stressed that “Italian cuisine is a cultural language, a lifestyle, a heritage handed down from generation to generation; tells the story of our land and our people, of the deep links between food, environment and community.”.

The dinner hosted by the Ambassador at his Residence has seen the protagonist of the cuisine of Chef Pasquale and Gaetano Torrente of the restaurant “Il Convento” of the province of Salerno, who has collaborated with the Chef of Villa Firenze Roberto Grazioli to create a special menu for the occasion. There were important guests such as the Honorable Deborah Bergamini and Carlo Fidanza, the Judge of Supreme Court Samuel Alito, and prominent members of the American Administration as the Deputy National Security Councilor Andrew Baker and the Undersecretaries of Foreign Affairs Allison Hooker and Science Dario Gil.
