BERGAMO (ITALPRESS) – “The first Sustainability Report of the University of Bergamo is a significant step in the strategic and cultural growth of our University. With its publication, we express our commitment to measure, evaluate and explain in a transparent way the contribution of the University to the sustainable development of our community, territory and society in general.” With these words, the Rector Prof. Sergio Cavalieri introduced the presentation of the first Sustainability Report of the Orobic University, reported to the year 2024 and developed according to the Standard RUS-GBS, held in the morning of Tuesday, December 16 at the Galeotti Hall of the headquarters of Via dei Caniana in the presence of representatives of the Network of the Universities for Sustainable Development Bergamo RUS and the main stakeholders of the territory (Comune Camera.
The document, which collects and arranges for the first time quantitative and qualitative data regarding the three dimensions of sustainability – social, environmental and economic – integrating them with the indicators of the Strategic Plan of Athens 2023-2027, is an expression of the centrality that sustainability holds for the University: as Rector Cavalieri recalled, “For UniBg sustainability is not an additional element or a formality, but it is an integral part of our mission and values. The Sustainability Report recounts what we have done and indicates what remains to be built, to strengthen internal processes, monitoring and definition of good practices that will orientate future choices. The aim is to make it an annual document, approved by the Athens Organs, as well as the Consumption Budget.”.
