ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The House approved with 249 votes and 33 abstentions the third reform package of the Montecitorio regulation, which will enter into force in the next legislature. Among the novelties, the vote to “a certain date” of the measures at the request of the government and the statute of the oppositions, as well as norms to limit the phenomenon of “cambi di casacca”.
“The vote of the Chamber, which concludes the process of reform of the Rules of the Chamber, is a result of great importance. This is certainly a historical stage, built through a serious and transversal work, which has had in the Constitution and in the valorization of the role of Parliament its constant reference. I believe that this has been a fruitful example of a broad sharing of rules that concern everyone, with the aim of improving parliamentary procedures more and more. I thank the political forces for the spirit of great collaboration that has allowed to carry out the reform. A special thank you to the speakers Federico Fornaro, Igor Iezzi and Angelo Rossi and to all the members of the Joint for the Regulation for the punctual commitment put in place and for the constructive comparison that has marked, from the beginning, the development of the works”. So the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, after the vote in the Chamber on the proposed amendment to the Rules.
