The Israeli Parliament approves the death penalty for Palestinians convicted of terrorism

TEL AVIV (ISRAELE) (ITALPRESS) – The Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, has approved with 62 votes in favour and 48 against a controversial law that provides for the death penalty for the Palestinians of the West Bank condemned for crimes of terrorism. The vote is an important victory for the extreme right-wing party Otzma Yehudit of the National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who has long fought for this measure. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voted for the bill.

“This is a day of justice for the victims and a day of deterrence for our enemies. No more terrorists, but a clear decision. Whoever chooses terrorism chooses death,” said Ben Gvir in a statement.
