The Minister of Culture meets the United States Ambassador Fertitta

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, met today at the Roman College the Ambassador of the United States of America in Rome, Tilman Fertitta. During the meeting, the collaborative programmes were discussed between Italy and the United States in the field of contemporary culture and creativity, characterized by a common vision on many themes of the cultural agenda. Minister Giuli expressed his appreciation for Trump’s attention to the memory of Christopher Columbus and in support of the historical and cultural heritage of the American community of Italian origin, including the Columbus Day celebrations. “It has been reiterated the full tune of the two governments in contrast to the traffic of cultural goods, which will shortly lead to the return to Italy of about two hundred works of art illegally exported to the United States – read in a note of the MIC -. The minister and the ambassador discussed American investments in Italy in the field of cinema and audiovisual and the ongoing realization of important productions, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture”.

The meeting took place on the eve of the mission of the minister Giuli in the United States, scheduled from 23 to 25 March, during which he will meet American government authorities and intervene at the inauguration of the exhibition “Raphael: Sublime Poetry” at the Metropolitan Museum of New York, realized with the contribution of several Italian museums.
