The new Lancia Gamma will be produced in Melfi from 2026

TURIN (ITALPRESS) – The strategy to relaunch the Lancia brand passes through the Melfi plant. It is here that Stellantis announced it will produce the new Lancia Gamma starting in 2026, on the multi-energy Stla Medium platform, strengthening its role in the transition to electric mobility. The confirmation came during the Rally 4 presentation event, held in Balocco, in the voice of Lancia’s Ceo, Luca Napolitano: “This model represents a milestone on our path toward the future. It embodies our brand’s commitment to sustainability and high performance, celebrating the unmistakable elegance that has defined Lancia for decades,” he said. “By producing it in the historic Melfi plant, we are strengthening our connection to Italy’s rich automotive heritage. The Gamma will demonstrate the best of what Lancia stands for: innovation, style and a constant pursuit of excellence.” The Lancia Gamma will be designed, engineered and developed in Italy, as well as produced at the plant in Basilicata, where the second generation of the Ypsilon was also born between 1995 and 2003. Opened in 1994, the Melfi plant currently produces the Jeep Compass and Jeep Renegade. This announcement is part of the broader strategy to relaunch the Lancia brand, which also includes a return to Europe with a network of more than 70 dealerships in six countries including France, Belgium and Spain.
