ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The regional scientific-didactic pole on the biodiversity of the Tiber at the left bank of the river, in Scalo de Pinedo, from Risorgimento Bridge to Ponte Pietro Nenni. The activities of scientific dissemination and environmental education to be carried out at the Polo will be organized at the headquarters of the Fondazione Marevivo ETS and along the educational path of the Parco d’Affaccio. Educational and information panels dedicated to biodiversity of the Tiber will be installed. The Centre for river and urban biodiversity also operates as an innovative regional project that combines scientific research, environmental education and civic participation in collaboration between Fondazione Marevivo (ETS) and CNR-ISMAR.
“The regional pole is a reason for pride and confirms the commitment of the Regional Junta for the promotion and enhancement of the river Tiber: from the care of the environment, through the plastic reservoirs, to the cleaning of the docks and to the management of hydraulic functions, our goal is to return the river to the citizens, making it more and more usable”, says the Councillor Fabrizio Ghera. “Roma Capitale is carrying out a huge work of regeneration and redevelopment of the Tiber. We opened in 2025 five river parks, made with an investment of 7.3 million jubilee funds and born to allow citizens to live the banks. To these are added the park Tiberis, which this summer will open completely renewed with new equipment and kiosks, and the park Tevere Sud, under construction by the State Superintendency. We have established the work table for river bathing, the outcome of a more general process of renaturalization.
