The Sala del Consiglio del Viminale

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The De Gasperi Foundation has lived a solemn moment full of history. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of the first De Gasperi Government, the Sala del Consiglio del Viminale — which until 1961 hosted the seat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers — was entitled to the Trentino Statist, ideally returning to intertwine with its human and political affair.

The ceremony, held in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, offered the opportunity to recall the deepest meaning of the Degasperian inheritance.

Among the interventions, particularly felt was that of the President of the Foundation, Angelino Alfano, who recalled the decisive role of the statist in the delicate transition from the monarchy to the republic and in the guide of the Country in years marked by great difficulties, but also by an extraordinary hope of rebirth.

The Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, together with Paolo Catti De Gasperi, nephew of the statist, then unveiled the commemorative plate placed at the entrance of the hall.
