The South Innovating New York: 081 Stand For Naples Brings Culture, Science, and Business to the Italian Cultural Institute

On April 24, at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, the association 081 Stand For Naples will present an international event titled “Southern Excellence – Stories of Leadership and Impact”, a meeting that celebrates the excellence of Southern Italy through a dialogue between culture, scientific research, and the business world.

The initiative will bring together prominent figures who represent the dynamism and talent of Southern Italy on the global stage. Among the speakers, actress Cristiana Dell’Anna, widely known for her role in Gomorra and for portraying Mother Cabrini, will share insights on the value of cultural storytelling and Italian identity worldwide. Alongside her, Antonio Giordano, MD, PhD and Professor of Molecular Biology at Temple University, will explore the contribution of scientific research and innovation in the medical field. The discussion will be moderated by Davide Ippolito, founder of Il Newyorkese, who will guide the conversation among the speakers.

The event represents an important opportunity to strengthen the connection between Italy and the United States, highlighting the role of Southern Italy as a driver of innovation, creativity, and development. Essential support comes from sponsors Red Oak Food Management, Caffè Borbone, La Piadineria, Mionetto, and De Nigris, companies that embody the excellence of Made in Italy and promote it internationally.

With this initiative, 081 Stand For Naples confirms its role as a leading association in promoting talent and excellence from Southern Italy, bringing to New York a strong message: the South is a key player in the future, capable of combining tradition and innovation in a global context.

This achievement has also been made possible thanks to the commitment and vision of the organizers — Umberto Lobina, Mario Farina, Dalila Ferrara, Martina de Nigris, and Antonio Ciardiello — who have helped transform this project into an international showcase for Southern Italy.
