ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy, launched missiles and drones in northern Israel, marking its entry into the war between Israel and Iran. Hezbollah said that the launches are a reprisal for the killing of the Iranian supreme leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the joint operation of Israel and the United States launched on Saturday. The Israeli army began to strike those who defined Hezbollah’s objectives in response, killing at least 31 people and wounding 149, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The Israeli Defense Forces (Idf) claimed to have hit “precisely” “high-ranking terrorists of Hezbollah” in the Beirut area, as well as a “central Hezbollah terrorist” in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force also hit Hezbollah’s targets in the Bekaa valley. The end of Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel was vanified by the ceasefire reached in November 2024. The Chief of Staff of the Idfs, Eyal Zamir, confirmed that Israel launched an offensive campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon and warned that there will be several days of fighting. The army “ launched an offensive campaign against Hezbollah. We’re not only acting defensively, now we’re also going to the offensive. We must prepare for the many and prolonged fighting days that await us,” he said.
PROSEGUONO ATTACCHI IDF SU TEHERAN E LANCIO DI MISSILI VERSO ISRAELE
The Israeli Defense Forces (Idf) have released new air strike films against Iranian ballistic missiles and other military targets in Iran. During the night, the military said, a wave of raid was launched on Tehran. For the third consecutive day, the Israeli operation “Il ruggito del leone” launched on Saturday, which has so far beheaded the Iranian military leadership and the supreme leadership, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Since the beginning of the operation, the Idfs have “intercepted successfully” about 50 drones launched by Iran. After about 9 hours of pause, missiles were launched this morning by Iran that triggered the alarm sirens in the center and south of Israel, without causing casualties. So far, Iranian missile attacks on Israel have caused ten deaths and 777 people have been evacuated in hospitals, of which 86 are currently hospitalized or emergency. Four are in serious condition, according to the data of the Israeli Ministry of Health.
BAGHAEI CHIUDE ALLA RIPRESA DI NEGOZIATI CON GLI USA
The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, has suggested that at the moment there is no possibility to re-establish negotiations with the United States, after the joint operation launched Saturday. In statements to the media, Baghaei said: “We were in the middle of negotiations with the United States twice when we were attacked, and so now all our attention is aimed at defending our nation. We have been attacked, this is an unjust war that has been imposed on us and our approach is to remain firm, persevere and face this injustice.” In recent days, US President Donald Trump said he had received signals from Tehran for the resumption of talks. After the third round of negotiations between Iran and the United States that took place in Geneva last week, the parties agreed to meet this week in Vienna.
Similarly to what happened last June, when Israel and the United States attacked Iran after a series of negotiations, on Saturday the Tel Aviv-Washington axis began to strike goals of the Iranian regime. According to Baghaei, “What the United States and Israel are doing against Iran is an attack on the United Nations Charter and international law.”.
MISSILI IN PIU’ ZONE DEL GOLFO
The spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya command, unified headquarters of the Iranian armed forces, said that the American air base of Ali al-Salem in Kuwait was “completely put out of service” following recent missile attacks and drones. According to statements from Iranian sources and relaunched on various Arab and international channels, the spokesman added that the USS carrier Abraham Lincoln suffered an attack with four cruise missiles (in some versions indicated as ballistics), after which he would escape from his operational position in the Gulf, heading south-east, presumably in the Indian Ocean. The statements are part of a series of communications issued in the context of regional escalation, with references to multiple “waves” of operations (such as “al-Wa’d al-Sadiq 4”) that would have hit US bases in the Gulf, including Bahrain, and naval infrastructure in Kuwait. The spokesman also mentioned damage to three American and British tankers in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, as well as attacks with four drones against US naval installations in Bahrain.
On the US side, the Central Command (CENTCOM) categorically denied that the USS Abraham Lincoln was struck, defining the Iranian “bugie” claims and specifying that the missiles “did not even approach” the ship, which continues to operate regularly by launching aircraft in support of the ongoing operations. There are no independent evidence of significant damage to the Ali al-Salem base or the carrier, while the Kuwaiti authorities have previously reported interceptions and limited effects from fragments in nearby areas. The context is marked by very high tensions after US-Israeli attacks in Iran, including the death of supreme leader Ali Khamenei, with mutual accusations of escalation and threats of further reprisals.
