TORINO (ITALPRESS) – Dawn has started the search within the Askatasuna social centre of Turin, in Corso Regina Margherita 47, the building occupied by the antagonists from the late Nineties. The operation is also affecting the homes of some members of the social centre and student collectives. It is an activity set up as part of the investigation into Pro Pal events in the city, which in the past weeks had led to the assault on the Ogr, the headquarters of Leonardo and the local editorial staff of the newspaper La Stampa. In addition to Digos, in the outside area of Askatasuna, mobile departments are also deployed to manage security, since in front of the social center activists and sympathizers are gathered.
During the blitz this morning, six people were found sleeping inside the building: a fact that violates the agreement of collaboration that the Municipality had signed within the framework of a project on the common goods, which aimed to bring back in a hive of legality the historically occupied complex. Not by chance, a few minutes ago the official communication of the mayor Stefano Lo Russo arrived: “The Public Security Authority is carrying out this morning activities at the Regina Margherita 47 course building. In this context the Prefecture of Turin has communicated to the City the ascertainment of the violation of the prescriptions regarding the interdiction to the access to the premises of course Regina Margherita 47 – he said – This situation constitutes a failure to respect the conditions of the agreement of collaboration that therefore has ceased, as communicated to the proposers”.
