NAPLES (ITALPRESS) – “We are working with urban planning tools to try to better distribute bed and breakfasts in the city. The real issue is that in Italy we need a law that gives real powers to mayors to be able to plan these things, I hope it will be done because tourism is good but it has to be governed.” Gaetano Manfredi, mayor of Naples and ANCI president, told 24 Mattino on Radio 24.
“We mayors use ancillary norms and this creates litigation while instead the natural thing would be to make a national norm as is the case in Spain and France that allows mayors to put ceilings that determines a better distribution on the territory. Regarding bed and breakfast activities in the new master plan we have provided maximum thresholds for each neighborhood. The sum of the celebrations for the anniversary of the founding of the city and the Jubilee effect since Naples is the closest city to Rome we have predicted about 3 million more tourists for this year,” he added.
