Tragedy of Crans-Montana, at the Niguarda in Milan 6 wounded in intensive care. 3 are critical

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “We confirm 11 patients welcomed at the Niguarda Hospital in Milan. Almost all wounded are 15-16 years old, except for a 29-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman. The extension of their burns (of II and III degree) varies from 10% to more than 50%, involves limbs, back and face, and for several of them there are important damage to the lung level caused by inhalations, which require mechanical assistance to breathing. Six patients are admitted in Intensive Therapy and are considered in particularly serious conditions: They need more treatment for the control of infections (typical in a framework of severe burns), for support to the functioning of the organs and from the metabolic point of view. Three of these six are considered in particularly critical conditions. All patients are sedated and in private prognosis, and it is premature to consider them out of danger.” They make it known by the Milanese hospital, update on the health conditions of the wounded as a result of the tragedy in Crans Montana in Switzerland.

“The clinical and intensive care courses each of them is facing are long and complex, and will take at least several weeks. The operating rooms of Niguarda are constantly active to proceed with the different surgical interventions necessary, while the continuous and constant support of the anestheists and reanimators is guaranteed. Niguarda remains available to take over an additional patient currently admitted to Zurich, at the time considered untransportable, as well as to give support and assistance to further injured.”.
