The training courses will develop around the themes of Europe, Memory and Energy with a first stage scheduled from 13 to 18 September and a second phase that will be completed in the spring of 2027. The first Summer School will be organized by the University of Foggia and the University of Bari, scheduled from tomorrow 13 September to 16 September. An interdisciplinary path that, through different approaches and languages, is born with the aim of promoting a common reflection on Europe yesterday and today.

On the one hand, the path promoted by the University of Bari will involve performing arts, seminars and roundtables, to stimulate a reflection on the crisis of democracies, the role of participation and the value of an active and conscious citizenship.

On the other hand, the University of Foggia will propose a path dedicated to the contemporary European system, analyzed through the lens of research and European policies in support of the development of careers of researchers.

The Summer School “Ab Insula”, curated by the Polytechnic of Bari, will take place from 14 to 18 September, instead, dedicated to living, declined in the recovery of the historical-cultural memory of the places.

The route will offer an experience of teaching, research and design experimentation aimed at exploring new relationships between collective and private dimensions and to define possible models of housing, sharing of functions and services and new forms of relationship, compatible with the historical-cultural and landscape context of the islands and in respect of the characteristics of traditional architecture. The other two Summer School will take place in the spring of 2027.

The Councillor for Culture and Knowledge of the Apulia Region, Silvia Miglietta, points out that “the four summer schools scheduled at Tremiti are the result of a consolidated collaboration between Puglia Region, Municipality and Apulian University. The most qualifying aspect of this experience is the common desire to use the tools of knowledge to give new energies to this place and its community of people. The Tremiti, the only Italian islands inhabited on the Adriatic, are in fact at the center of an valorisation project that aims to make it a center of production and sharing of culture. It is in this direction that the training courses programmed by the Apulian universities will range from issues of great relevance, from crisis Europeanism to new forms of living: themes on which we need to reflect to build the compasses of our future”.
