NAPOLI (ITALPRESS) – Seven people, aged between 25 and 58, were arrested this morning in execution of a detention order in prison issued by the Gip of the Tribunal of Naples at the request of the Prosecutor of the Republic. Investigates are accused of being part of a criminal association aimed at the commission of scams against older people.
According to the investigators of the Mobile Team of Naples, the partnership, with operational base in the Campania capital, would have scored at least nine scams starting from December 2024 in the provinces of Alessandria, Verbania, Pistoia, Lucca, Pesaro Urbino, Ancona and Lecce, obtaining a total illicit profit of approximately 200 thousand euros.
The victims, all between 75 and 89 years old, were contacted by telephone by individuals who were dealing for members of the police and reporting a serious road accident caused by a relative, prospecting the arrest of the same as imminent. To avoid judicial consequences, the elderly were required to deliver cash or jewelry. The order also provides for precautionary measures against four other investigations, which are considered involved in individual episodes.
