“The plans for nuclear talks between the United States and Iran on Friday came back into effect, after several Middle Eastern leaders made urgent pressure on the Trump administration on Wednesday afternoon so that it did not follow the threats to withdraw.” This is the Axios website citing two US officials. “We were asked to participate in the meeting and listen to what the Iranians have to say. We told the Arabs that we will make the meeting if they persist. But we are very skeptical,” said one of the officials in Axios. The second official said that the Trump administration agreed to hold the meeting “for respect” against the United States allies in the region and “to continue pursuing the diplomatic path”.
