WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – U.S. President Donald Trump has granted pardons to some 1,500 defendants for the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol Hill assault. This is “a full, complete and unconditional pardon,” Trump said from the Oval Office.
On social Truth, the new president also announced the first four firings of officials appointed by the previous administration: “Jose Andres of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, Mark Milley of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook of the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms of the President’s Export Council: YOU ARE FIRED!”
“Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Office of Presidential Personnel is actively identifying and removing over a thousand presidential appointees from the previous administration,” Trump explains in the post on Truth, “who are not in line with our vision of making America great again. Let this serve as an official notice of termination for these 4 people, and many more, coming soon.”
Earlier, after being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, Trump at the Capital One Arena in Washington signed the first executive measures of his new administration.
These include restrictions on border crossings, increased fossil fuel development, and an end to diversity and inclusion programs in the federal government.
The tycoon specifically also signed orders on the suspension of 78 Biden-era executive actions, a regulatory freeze that prevents bureaucrats from issuing regulations until the Trump administration is in full control of the government, a requirement that federal employees return to work in full-time attendance, a directive for every department and agency to address the cost-of-living crisis, withdrawal from the Paris Climate Treaty, a government order restoring free speech and preventing its censorship, and an end to the “militarization of government against political opponents of the previous administration.”
The measures also include an order requiring federal employees to return to the office five days a week. A decision made following the new president’s pledge to end the work-from-home culture that became common during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last month, in a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, Trump had made known his willingness to fire federal employees who would not return to the office to comply with the order.
After the rally at Capital One Arena Trump officially returned to the White House with his wife Melania, son Baron and father-in-law.
