Trump swears in, is 47th U.S. president “The Golden Age begins now. We will plant our flag on Mars.”

WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – “America’s golden age begins right now. From today on, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world, we will be the envy of every nation and we will no longer allow anyone to take advantage of us.” So said U.S. President Donald Trump during his inaugural address at the 60th inauguration ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda.
“During every single day of the Trump administration I will simply put America first,” the tycoon added, “Our sovereignty will be reclaimed, our security will be restored.
During his speech, Trump spoke of an America in crisis that needs to be lifted up, also citing the attack on him during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania: “My recent election represents a mandate to completely reverse a horrible situation, to restore to the people their faith, their wealth, their democracy and their freedom from this moment forward. America’s decline is over,” Trump continued.
“Over the past eight years, I have been tested and challenged more than any president in our 250-year history, and I have learned a lot along the way. I can tell you that the journey to reclaim our Republic has not been easy. Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take away my freedom and my life. Only a few months ago,” he recalled, “a bullet grazed my ear, but I have since realized that if my life was saved there was a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again.” “We must return to courage and vigor, we will lead the country to new heights and to
success, we will not be discouraged. The U.S. will be a growing country again. I think of our astronauts, I would like them to plant our flag on Mars. Ambition is synonymous with a great nation,” the words of the tycoon, who then assured, “We will take back the Panama Canal.” And he noted that “this week I will end the government policy of socially manipulating gender and race. From today, the official policy of the U.S. government will be that there are only two genders: men and women.”
Donald Trump’s inauguration day as the 47th president of the United States featured a traditional program, with a few variations on the theme. In the first part, the tycoon went to St. John’s Episcopal Church for the usual prayer service.
Afterwards Trump, accompanied by first lady Melania, went to the White House to share tea with the Biden family.
The private meeting represents yet another tradition associated with the presidential handover. Trump himself had discontinued this practice four years ago, that is, when he refused to acknowledge Biden’s victory. The next engagement for the tycoon was the most important one of the day, namely the swearing-in, which exceptionally given the great cold weather was held in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol and not outside. Originally 250,000 tickets had been distributed for the outdoor event, but after the change of plans, access was limited to 600 people, the maximum capacity of the Rotunda. Among those present inside Capitol Hill were Vice President-elect JD Vance, outgoing President Joe Biden, his deputy Kamala Harris, members of Congress, and all living former presidents. Other high-profile guests were also numerous, including Speaker Giorgia Meloni, Tesla patron Elon Musk, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and entrepreneur Jeff Bezos.
The most striking absences were former first lady Michelle Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
For the occasion, the entire area surrounding the Capitol was locked down. Also closed was the presidential parade, scheduled to take place at the Capital One Arena, the same place where the so-called “victory rally” was held already yesterday in which Trump wanted to thank all his supporters for the affection shown throughout the campaign.
