BERGAMO (ITALPRESS) – The State Police of Bergamo has arrested a Romanian citizen, without fixed abode and deprived of police precedents, seriously suspected of attempted kidnapping in person against a child of a year and a half, as well as personal injuries aggravated against him.
The man was entering a city supermarket while a family, consisting of parents and their daughter, was leaving. At that time, the stranger suddenly seized the child for his legs, trying violently to tear it to the mother holding it by hand and trying to drag it into the mall.
The woman managed to oppose it by decision and immediately asked for help. The father, who was a short distance away, intervened promptly to stop the attacker. Also some passersby and supervisors are aware, managing to immobilize it until the arrival of law enforcement.
The steering wheel on the spot secured the minor and accompanied the man at the Bergamo Police Station. The investigations carried out, thanks also to the testimonies collected and the analysis of the images of the video surveillance system, have allowed to accurately reconstruct the dynamics of the facts.
The child was transported to the hospital for clinical trials, which highlighted a fracture of the femur, caused by the violence exerted during the attempt to subtract.
At the end of the investigation, the man was arrested for aggravated kidnapping, as he committed to a minor of fourteen years, and for aggravated personal injury.
