MILAN (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of the Feb. 20, 2025, National Day of Health, Social and Healthcare Professionals and Volunteers, established by Law Nov. 13, 2020, no. 155, the Order of Medical Radiology Health Technicians and Technical, Rehabilitation and Prevention Health Professions of Milan, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza Brianza and Sondrio proposes the honor “Extraordinary Quotidianity: stories of Health Professionals,” now in its second edition. “For this anniversary, we want to highlight the stories of our members, who are able to tell a virtuous healthcare often overshadowed by the negative narrative of the health system,” says Order President Diego Catania. “At a time marked by objective critical issues for our National Health Service, it is important to keep in mind that Health Professionals represent the backbone of citizens’ right to health, a bulwark of professionalism and humanity in spite of the many daily challenges. I feel it is only right to highlight these aspects, particularly in light of the increasing number of assaults against health care professionals in recent years. While the causes are complex and, as I have already noted in other contexts, must be addressed with action on multiple levels, from prevention to training, from sanctioning measures to psychological support, we must not forget the fundamental role of communication and awareness-raising actions. Telling the successes, projects, charitable initiatives and scientific contributions of our members is the first step in looking toward a different future marked by respect for Health Professionals.” Among the nominations proposed by the Roll Committees and evaluated by a Commission established within the Board of Directors of the Order, the following receive the Honor of Merit for Contribution in the Public Interest in the Field of Health Professions – Year 2025: Enrico Fraschini, Medical Radiology Health Technician; Bianca Maria Petrucci, Occupational Therapist; and Angela Rezzonico, Speech Therapist. Enrico Fraschini has distinguished himself through his training and health care work in Africa, specifically in Angola. As part of the “Capacity Building” project initiated in collaboration with the Complesso Hospitalar Don Alexandre do Nascimento in Luanda, Enrico demonstrated exceptional leadership in training 30 Medical Radiology Health Technicians, helping to create advanced CT protocols and promoting the implementation of telemedicine to improve access to health services in the region.Bianca Maria Petrucci has made a significant contribution to the evolution of Occupational Therapy in Italy, contributing to the growth of the profession through her career and teaching activities at the University of Milan. His work has focused on dementia care and particularly on Alzheimer’s disease, a field in which he has introduced innovative projects to improve the lives of patients and their families. She has also published fundamental texts for students and professionals in the field, milestones for anyone who wants to pursue a career as an Occupational Therapist.Angela Rezzonico is Coordinator of Speech Therapy in the multidisciplinary team of the Regional Center for the Treatment of Labiopalatoschisis and Operation Smile Milan Care and Training Center at San Paolo Hospital, which takes care of patients with congenital cranio- and maxillofacial malformations, particularly children with cleft lip and palate. Rezzonico also provides training for Operation Smile’s volunteer doctors from around the world. He has been volunteering in surgical programs for Operation Smile since 2010, mainly in Africa. “I am really proud to represent such virtuous members, who are able to open new horizons of excellence for their respective Professions nationally and internationally,” President Catania concludes. “I would like to emphasize, however, that the honor given symbolically to some is meant to be a recognition of the work of all, because each of our members offers an irreplaceable contribution even simply with their commitment in healthcare facilities, professional practices and the territory: an ‘Extraordinary Quotidianity’ to be remembered and celebrated every day.”-photo press office Order TSRM and PSTRP of Milan, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza Brianza and Sondrio -(ITALPRESS)
