TORINO (ITALPRESS) – In Turin mail travels more and more often to zero emissions. It is the result of a concrete investment by Poste Italiane that transforms buildings, means and daily habits of the city. With the four active photovoltaic plants installed by Poste Italiane, a total power of 408 kWp is guaranteed and an estimated production of about 450 MWh per year. A contribution that reduces the emission of 118 tons of Co2 every year, equivalent to the absorption of over 4 thousand trees. With the energy obtained from the only plants of Corso Grosseto and Via Marsigli, the group thus manages to cover the entire energy requirements of the electric vehicles used by the city gatekeepers. “In Turin – said Samuele Bilello, head of the Piemonte Poste Italian Real Estate – we are carrying out various structural interventions that aim to reduce emissions. We are replacing the old boilers with new heat pumps, we have installed 40 thousand LED lighting bodies and we also installed smart building that allow us to remotely control our offices. We also installed four large photovoltaic plants with a total surface of 15 tennis courts. These plants allow us, with the fleet of electric vehicles, to deliver mail to zero emissions. These goals and concrete transformations of our structures will allow us to achieve the goal of Italian Poste of Zero Emissions.” In the center of distribution of course Tazzoli, heart of the city logistics, they coexist electric means, new generation photovoltaic plants and advanced systems of intelligent management of buildings. The route is already giving the results hoped: from the comparison between the electric consumptions 2021-2022 and 2024-2025 emerges a reduction of 17.8% despite the increase of the electrical means and the modernization of the plants. The buildings are equipped with BMS systems, able to monitor real-time lighting, air conditioning and consumption by optimizing loads and reducing waste. The reduction of emissions is also guaranteed by the new heat pumps that have replaced the old gas boilers present in the company buildings and the new LED lighting that has reduced consumption by more than 60%. Thanks to the project “Smart Building”, in the province of Turin 190 offices are equipped with an integrated intelligent and automated system monitoring and management system and an average saving of 15% on electricity consumption and 10% on gas consumption is expected. “The sustainability project launched by Poste Italiane in Turin – said Federico Galiera, Recap Torino Tazzoli Poste Italiane – is a concrete example of how our company is investing in the future of the territory. The electrification of the fleet, the installation of photovoltaic systems and the modernization of buildings are not symbolic interventions, but actions that have a real impact on air quality, energy efficiency and the daily life of communities. The vehicles guarantee the delivery with more efficiency, more safety and more load, thus responding positively to the increasing demand generated by e-commerce. We are proud of the results achieved and the contribution our work offers to the environment and the city”. The fleet of means of transport for the city is also renewed: the deliveries can count on 40 electric vans and 59 electric cars that are added to the 108 electric tricycles and 28 electric quadricycles used every day by the gatekeeper. To support the new fleet, in the Tazzoli Course Distribution Center, 86 electric columns were installed to recharge vehicles for a total of 267 throughout Turin. The special features and configurations of the new clean energy vehicles, specially designed for Italian Poste, also increase safety for drivers and load capacity. -photo xb4/Italpress – (ITALPRESS).
