Milan State Police executed a precautionary measure order, issued by the court gip, against a 38-year-old Turkish citizen, residing in Italy, who is under investigation for criminal conspiracy also aggravated by transnationality, aimed at committing a number of crimes including possession and illegal carrying of weapons including clandestine weapons, international arms trafficking, aiding and abetting illegal immigration, murders, massacres, drug trafficking, money laundering, forgery of identification documents, receiving stolen goods, and self-laundering. The precautionary measure stems from investigations carried out by investigators from the Sisco in Milan, the Mobile Squad in Como and the Central Operations Service in Rome concerning a transnational association composed mainly of Turkish nationals dedicated to a series of crimes, as well as an armed gang for the purpose of terrorism, headed by a Turkish citizen currently in detention, who was arrested last May 22 along with 20 other people during a vast police operation that, in addition to Italy, involved Switzerland, Bosnia and the Netherlands. The investigations had documented how the head of the criminal organization, from the place of house arrest where he was being held for possession and carrying a weapon, continued to direct and coordinate from Italy the vast criminal syndicate by managing drug and arms trafficking as well as aiding and abetting illegal immigration via the Balkan route. He also allegedly ordered the commission of crimes, including terrorist crimes, in Europe, particularly in Berlin, with the murder of a Turkish citizen on March 10, and planned an attack on an aluminum factory in Turkey between March 19 and 20 through the use of weapons marked by high firepower. The latter attack failed thanks to the information exchange between the State Police through Interpol and the Turkish Kom police. Subsequent investigations, made it possible to document how, despite being detained, the head of the organization, currently transited to the 41 bis regime, through the arrested, related to him by a family relationship and currently an asylum seeker, was continuing to issue orders and directives to the other associates by means of pizzini delivered during prison interviews. The arrestee was part of a special group that arrived in Italy in mid-May last year, the purpose of which was to protect the boss from possible attacks by rival groups and meet his economic, organizational and logistical needs.
