SALERNO (ITALPRESS) – The Gialle Fiamme of the Alpine Rescue Station of the Guardia di Finanza of Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi, following the activation of the CNSAS Operations Centre, have operated a rescue intervention in favor of two alpinists who had lost the orientation along the crest of Monte Cervati, in the National Park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni, in the municipal territory of SanzaSA. Considering the particularly demanding environmental conditions, characterized by high altitude and presence of snow-covered surfaces, an articulated research device was prepared, in synergy with the operators of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of Campania (CNSAS).
In particular, two operational teams were organized: one engaged in ground research, jointly composed by S.A.G.F. staff. and CNSAS volunteers, and a second heliported team. The latter operated on board a helicopter AW139 of the Air Section of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples. The crew, identified hikers within a snowy channel, preliminarly verified their health conditions, detecting symptoms of recklessness, as well as an evident state of fear. Subsequently, through the use of the winch, it provided the safety recovery of the two climbers. The malcapitates were then expelled near the main access routes, where they were entrusted to the staff of the Emergency Health Service 118 for medical examinations.
