U.S.-Poland backlash over Starlinks, Rubio “No one threatens Ukraine”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Back-and-forth between Poland and the United States over Starlinks coverage for Ukraine. “Starlinks for Ukraine is paid for by the Polish Ministry of Digitization at a cost of about $50 million per year. Apart from the ethics of threatening the victim of aggression, if SpaceX proves to be an unreliable supplier we will be forced to look for other suppliers,” Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski writes on X.

“These are just fabrications,” retorts U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio. “Nobody,” he continues, “has threatened to cut off Ukraine from Starlink. And say thank you because without Starlink Ukraine would have lost this war long ago and the Russians would be on the border with Poland right now.”

Sikorski had written in X, after Elon Musk had also spoken on the social network about Ukraine and Starlink. “My Starlink system,” Musk had pointed out, “is the backbone of the Ukrainian military. Their whole front line would collapse if I shut it down. What disgusts me is years of massacres in a stalemate that Ukraine will inevitably lose. Whoever really cares, think if you want the meat grinder to stop. PEACE NOW!!!”
