VERONA (ITALPRESS) – Hellas Verona’s first draw of the season came on the very last day of the first half of the season. The Scaligeri, in ten from 71′, stopped at 0-0 a Udinese too ruffled in the offensive maneuver. Runjaic immediately launches winter newcomer Solet into the starting lineup in defense and also assigns him offensive duties: the former Salzburg man, from arm in arm, will be the best player on the field. Opposite the Scaliger trident: there is Suslov behind Tengstedt and Sarr in the 3-4-1-2. Hellas pushes at the start with its offensive players, but the Friulians resist and risk striking in the scrum: it is Solet himself who comes close to scoring. As the minutes pass, Hellas gets back in front and, albeit with 40 percent ball possession, makes more movement and more pressing than its rivals. Thauvin tries to hit Verona on the restart in a finale with great nervousness, but Montipò is there: it is 0-0 at rest. The resumption opens with an immediate chance for Verona, which strikes with Tengstedt and finds a response from the rival defense. Lovric claims a penalty and Udinese, from 60′ on, dominates in the offensive zone. Montipò saves on the Slovenian and Lucca, Verona inaccurate and capable of hurting himself. Tengstedt knows something about this, actually foiling a made goal by Mosquera. Hellas withstood the blow but, at 71′, here was the potential turning point: Suat Serdar, already cautioned, got himself sent off for double caution. Zanetti runs for cover by inserting Belahyane for Tengstedt, but his men dance: Udinese twice come close to scoring. Sanchez also entered and Runjaic switched to a trident, with a clamorous double chance in the 86th minute: Atta’s rocket hitting the crossbar, then Ekkelenkamp missing the tap-in just a stone’s throw from Montipò. In the final, the Scaligeri limited themselves to defending, with Mosquera the only offensive bulwark and a granitic five-man defense with Magnani-Daniliuc on the outside. A move that works, as in the recovery Hellas doesn’t risk anything. Golden point for Zanetti who, in the days before the closing with Presidio Investors (new owner in pectore of the club for 120-130 mln), rises to 19 points and +5 on the red zone.
