Udinese-Parma 1-0, Thauvin decides on a penalty kick

UDINE (ITALPRESS) – Kosta Runjaic’s Udinese is an unstoppable machine, which can dream of going far beyond salvation: this is the response of the Bluenergy Stadium, which witnesses the third consecutive success of its favorites. From the very first minutes here is the pure domination of the Bianconeri, who simply travel at a pace twice as fast as Cristian Chivu’s Parma, annihilated by the rival lineup. Suzuki saves it early on Atta, then engages in a duel with Thauvin: triple chances by the Frenchman and always wins the goalkeeper, who saves his own in every possible way. The episode that decides the match comes at 38′, when Balogh goes haywire and deflects with his hand to block yet another overflowing action by Thauvin: it’s a penalty and the Frenchman converts. Thus, the case with Lorenzo Lucca is finally closed, as he is the one who delivers the ball to his teammate to shoot. Parma was rightly punished and never dangerous, with Lautaro Valenti’s only shot (out), but in the second half the ducali attacked the match: a great save by Padelli on Man. Ehizibue and Thauvin go very close to doubling and also Lucca, stopped by offside. Another offside, right of the center forward, makes the double of the former Tigres and Olympique Marseille, simply overflowing today, be cancelled out. It was only in the final half that Parma showed its face again, despite the switch to two forwards and Chivu’s largely offensive changes: Solet was sensational on Alqmvist’s attempt, Padelli saved again on Mateo Pellegrino. The former Velez man fails to score and Udinese rejoices, since with the win salvation is all but certain: the Friulans are on 39 points, trailing AC Milan (41) and Roma (40), and Runjaic is unbeaten in five matches (four wins and a draw). Parma, on the other hand, is right back on the losing side after Chivu’s debut win: the +2 on third-last Empoli, which will take on Genoa tomorrow after the hangover of qualifying for the Coppa Italia semifinals, persists. – Ipa Agency photo -(ITALPRESS).
