The Champions League Final for the 2026/27 season will not be held in Milan. This was announced in a statement from UEFA: “Since the Municipality of Milan cannot guarantee that the San Siro stadium and its surroundings will not be affected by renovation works during the period of the 2027 Champions League Final,” the statement reads, “it has been decided not to award the Final to Milan and to reopen the bidding process to designate a suitable venue, with a decision expected in May-June 2025.”
With just four months to go since the allocation made by the UEFA Executive Committee in May—originally confirmed with a condition to be resolved by September—it is clear that the reservation was not lifted due to bureaucratic and organizational issues. The process will now officially reopen for new venue proposals.
