WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – In Ukraine, “Putin has failed in all his strategic objectives, such as breaking the unity of NATO.” Joe Biden said this in his last speech as U.S. president on foreign policy at the State Department.
“The Ukrainians stopped him and Ukraine is still a free and independent country,” stressed Biden, who added, “We have laid the foundation for the future administration to protect Ukraine.”
“During my tenure, NATO has become bigger and more capable than ever before. Before I took office, nine of our NATO allies spent 2 percent of GDP on defense, now there are 23,” Biden explained.
Regarding the Middle East, the agreement for the release of Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas and for a cease-fire in Gaza “is about to be closed,” the outgoing U.S. president assured. “We are on the verge of finally seeing a proposal that we presented in detail months ago come to fruition,” he explained.
