KIEV (UCRAINA) (ITALPRESS) – Negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the United States could resume within a few days. Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Ukrainian presidential staff, said that a new cycle of talks could be held towards the end of the week, with dates hypothesized between 26 and 27 February and with Geneva among the possible locations. According to Rbc Ukraine, Budanov explained that the preparations are in progress and that remain to be defined formal and procedural aspects. While recognizing the difficulty of negotiations, Budanov spoke of a progressive approach to a “decisive phase”. “The parties will have to choose whether to continue the war or make peace,” he said.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, tomorrow Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will intervene in videolink to the extraordinary plenary session of the European Parliament. The announcement was given by the President of the Assembly, Roberta Metsola, who reiterated the Union’s support for the Ukrainian people and the commitment to work for peace based on principles of justice and stable and lasting security guarantees. “We will continue to fight for just peace and lasting security for Ukraine,” wrote Metsola on X.
The same Zelensky, in an interview with the Bbc, commented on the current situation, pointing out that Ukraine is considered “a containment line” to stem a “Third World War” which in his opinion Putin has already unleashed. “There are different attitudes towards the Third World War. I think Putin started it. The question is how many territories can conquer and how to stop it,” said Zelensky. “I believe and I have always believed that Putin has already begun this war. And we are preventing him from embarking on a large-scale Third World War. Today we are an outpost and we are stopping Putin”, he continued.
