ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Pope Leo XIV recalled during the Angelus that “it has been 4 years since the beginning of the war” in Ukraine. A situation that the pontiff has defined “dramatic”: “how many victims”, “how many broken lives and families, how many destruction how many unspeakable sufferings…”, said Leo XIV.
“Every war leaves death, devastation and a trail of pain that marks generations,” the Pope added. “Peace – it was his call – cannot be postponed” is “an urgent need”, he said, “responsible decisions”. “I renew my appeal to silence the weapons, cease the bombings” because it comes to “the ceasefire” and “the dialogue is strengthened to open the way to peace”. And he invited “to pray for the martyred Ukrainian people and for those who suffer for this war”.
