Ukraine, Tajani “Let’s work for peace by 2025”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “We must work to reach a ceasefire and a just peace, which cannot be a defeat for Ukraine.” So said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, a guest on Ping Pong on Rai Radio1. “We need to work with the United States and Europe, Italy will do its part,” the minister said, “always involving Ukraine, so that this year (2025, ed.) we can reasonably conclude a war that has caused hundreds of thousands of victims. Regarding the situation in Syria, “I believe that first of all we have to ensure the unity of the Syrian state, stability, and be certain that the government will be respectful of the rule of law and minorities: then it will be right that there will be no more foreign presence. The situation is still too uncertain.” The minister then commented on the news that Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, has ordered the armed forces to remain in Syria for a year. “I think Israel wants to understand what will happen and ensure its security,” Tajani concluded.
