ROME (ITALPRESS) – “In the meetings in Paris and London it was decided to set up a series of working groups that will have to consider different opportunities for Ukraine: Italy is not willing to send combat troops there without a clear position of the UN. We are against military missions and in favor, after peace is achieved, of possibly sending soldiers.” This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani at a hearing before the joint Foreign and Defense Committees of the House and Senate.
“Regardless of projects and investments, if there is no cooperation with the United States, Europe is not going anywhere,” Tajani continued. “We must do more and not bend to the demands of others. The security of Europe and Ukraine can in no way be guaranteed without the presence of the United States, with the military tools we have today we are not able to defend ourselves on our own: the West does not question if there is one president of the United States instead of another.”
