Ukraine, Tajani “Putin does not want ceasefire”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “I am concerned about the aggressiveness Russia is showing toward Ukraine by also using North Korean troops. We have to work for peace and prevent escalation, but it seems to me that at this moment Putin does not want to accelerate the pace for a ceasefire and peace.” So said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of the inauguration of the academic year of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, commenting on Russia’s threats after the change in nuclear doctrine. “The violent aggression that Russia is showing in these last weeks worries us, of course it does. That is why we must continue to defend and support Kiev,” he added. “This afternoon in Rome there will be an Italy-Ukraine business forum, then there will be a meeting with Mrs. Zelenska and we will reiterate Italy’s commitment to support Ukraine. Always working for peace but peace must be just, that is, without the occupation of Ukrainian territory.”
