Ukraine, Zelensky “Emergency Status for the Energy Sector”

KIEV (UCRAINA) (ITALPRESS) – “The consequences of Russian strikes and the worsening of weather conditions are serious. The repair teams, energy companies, public utilities and state emergency services of Ukraine continue to work 24 hours a day to restore electricity and heating supplies. Many questions require an urgent solution. Thanks to all those who are involved and who work 100% efficiently.” Thus the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in a meeting to analyze the extraordinary circumstances in the energy sector.

“First: a headquarters will be created to coordinate the situation in the city of Kiev, which will be operational constantly. In general, an emergency regime will be introduced in the Ukrainian energy sector,” he explained.

“Second: Government officials will maximise collaboration with partners to obtain the necessary equipment and further support. Thirdly, I asked the government to prepare a revision of the curfew rules during such a cold climate. People should have the greatest chance to use support points and companies should have the opportunity to plan work taking into account the situation of the energy system. It is important that state institutions, enterprises and all levels of local authorities now work in a coordinated and harmonious way. The common result of the entire country depends on the results of each. During this state of emergency, the curfew can be revoked for some cities and communities where security conditions allow it. Government officials must submit their proposals, so that people have access to all necessary support at any time and companies can plan their activities more rationally,” said Zelensky.
