ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “It is important that the United States can have a response from Russia: a real will from Russia to focus on something different from aggression.” It says on X Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“From last night, Russia has led a massive attack on Ukraine, mainly targeting our energy sector and civil infrastructure, in practice the entire infrastructure of everyday life. Over 650 drones have already been launched, a significant number of which “shahed”. More than 30 missiles have been used. At the moment, anti-aircraft alarms remain in force in most of Ukraine. At the same time, all the necessary services are committed to managing the consequences of the attack. Tragically, there were losses of human lives. In the Kiev region, a woman was killed by a Russian drone. A person was declared dead in the Khmelnytskyi region. In the Zhytomyr region, a four-year-old child died after a Russian drone hit a residential building. My condolences to families and their loved ones,” says Zelensky. “Altogether, at least thirteen regions have already been attacked. A significant number of drones and missiles were hit down. Detailed information from the Air Force will be provided later, once received all reports. However, there were also blows. Repair teams and energy operators are already in the field, at work to ensure a normal life for people, our cities and our communities.”.
“This Russian attack sends an extremely clear signal on Russia’s priorities. An attack before Christmas, when people just want to be with their families, at home and safe. An attack led essentially in the middle of negotiations aimed at ending this war. Putin still can’t agree to stop killing. And that means the world is not exerting enough pressure on Russia. Now is the time to answer. Russia must be pushed towards peace and security guaranteed. We must remember that every single day, on weekdays and holidays, Ukraine defends human lives. Air defense for Ukraine, weapons supply funding and energy equipment supply are processes that do not stop for weekends. We must continue to strive to protect our lives to finally achieve peace. Thanks to all those who are helping Ukraine! Thanks to every leader and politician who will not remain silent today and who will condemn Russia for what he did,” Zelensky concludes.
