Uncat to the President’s Council for Tax Justice

ROME (ITALPRESS) – A delegation from the National Union of Tax Lawyers Chambers was received by the president of the Presidential Council of Tax Justice, Carolina Lussana.
Present for Uncat were president Gianni Di Matteo, councilors secretary and treasurer, Silvia Siccardi and Raffaella D’Anna, vice president Angelo Cuva, and councilors Anita Russo, Michele Tiengo, and Ida Pansini.
Among the topics of the meeting were the progress of tax hearings and the upcoming operation of the National Supreme Court.
Uncat -we read in the note- put forward a number of proposals to improve the organization and performance of tax hearings; proposed collaborative initiatives between Tax Judges and Uncat’s Tax Lawyers, such as the scheduling of shared comparison and training events; and the revitalization of the regional offices of the Massimario to involve judges and defenders on the territory under the coordination of the National Massimario Office (art. 24-bis D.Lgs. 545/92), also with the aim of identifying the judgments contained in the database of tax case law of merit that deserve priority in maximization.
Among the improvement proposals with regard to the organization of the Tax Justice service,” the note continues, “is the request to bring forward the timing of the scheduling of hearings, with more time for the preparation of documentation for the purpose of its filing and explicit and clear information on the actual time of calling the case, also taking into account the fact that, if the hearing is by remote, often the blank screen can leave defenders in limbo for several hours.
What Uncat has found in the field is that different organizational practices apply in the Tax Courts that make the work of defenders more difficult, outside and inside the hearing.
From Uncat also came the request to sensitize the Judges to the proper application of the regulations on the conduct of hearings in mixed mode (remote-presence), which requires the presence of the panel of judges in the courtroom.
President Carolina Lussana said, “Very important was the discussion with associations that have always been committed, like Uncat, to the enhancement of tax justice. Our jurisdiction is at a turning point with the introduction of the professional judge and the contribution of all practitioners is fundamental.”
