Understanding between Commission Antimafia and University of Milan on the Contrast to transnational crime

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The parliamentary commission of inquiry on the phenomenon of mafias and other criminal associations, also foreign, presided over by Chiara Colosimo, and the Department of International, Juridic and Historical-Politic Studies of the University of Milan, represented by Professor Nando Dalla Chiesa, as an administrative unit responsible for the Observatory on Organized Crime, have signed today at Palazzo San Macuto a scientific protocol of understanding aimed at institutional contrast The agreement provides for the realization of one or more scientific events, also articulated in several days, dedicated to the analysis of the main transformations of criminal phenomena on a global scale.

Particular attention will be paid to the dynamics of drug markets, the links between Latin America and Europe, the use of new technologies in illicit trafficking and the recycling processes of criminal proceeds. The initiatives will be curated by the Observatory on Organized Crime, in close agreement with the Commission, and will involve further academic institutions and national and international research centres. “The Protocol – reads in a note – also establishes a Joint Technical-scientific Committee, in charge of programming and monitoring activities, and defines a collaborative framework based on knowledge sharing, research promotion and public awareness, with particular attention to the new generations.”.
