NEW YORK (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – The National Italian American Foundation (Niaf), an organization that promotes Italian culture in the United States, has announced that Lazio will be the designated Region of Honor for 2025. This recognition coincides with Niaf’s 50th anniversary and the Jubilee Year, which is being held in the capital. Over the course of the year, the foundation will support a program to send 48 particularly deserving Italian American college students to discover Lazio, providing them with an opportunity to rediscover a deep connection with their roots and to illustrate the region’s innovations. In addition, Niaf’s Board of Directors will make a trip to the region, during which they will meet with representatives of the regional government and visit several Lazio cities. “Niaf is thrilled to celebrate the extraordinary region of Lazio during this historic year,” said Niaf President Robert Allegrini. “From its unparalleled historical heritage to its vibrant modern essence, Lazio embodies the depth and dynamism of Italian excellence. “I am delighted and honored that Lazio will be the Niaf Region of Honor 2025. I am sure that this circumstance will help strengthen our already flourishing relations with the United States, and that it will be useful in making known all that our Region has to offer in terms of beauty and heritage, but also in the field of high technology and innovation,” added Lazio Region President Francesco Rocca. A delegation from Lazio will attend Niaf’s New York Gala on April 10 and the Washington, D.C. Gala on Oct. 18, which will be held at the historic Washington Hilton Hotel and commemorate Niaf’s 50th anniversary. The region will be featured throughout the year on Niaf’s social media and in the quarterly publication of Ambassador magazine.
