ROMA (ITALPRESS) – After the fall recorded in November, December also confirms the negative trend of the commercial vehicle market: the registrations are attested to 14,504 units, with a decrease of 5.3% regarding the 15,321 units of the same month of 2024 (which had already recorded a contraction of 13.6%). The entire year 2025 closes with a reduction of 4.9%, in line with the forecasts Unrae, totaling 189.050 units and losing approximately 10,000 vehicles compared to the 198.703 registrations of 2024 (with 8 months on 12 in bending). In the course of the month, the percentage of pure electric vehicles grows, perhaps also favored by the registrations of incentives through the resources of the Mase and available for immediate delivery, reaching 4.5%, growing compared to 2.7% of December 2024 and substantially aligned to 4.3% of November 2025. In order to verify the actual impact of incentives on registrations of light commercial vehicles, Unrae remains waiting for the conclusion of iter relating to refunds for dealers.
“We hope that the liquidation timing already communicated and we reaffirm the need for the transmission of the first reimbursement applications through the Sogei platform to take place effectively in January, and that the relative refund will be credited by February, if it is not possible to speed up these timings,” says Roberto Pietrantonio, president Unrae.
2025 is a further lost year for the energy transition of the freight transport sector: the percentage of fully electric vehicles stops at 4.4% (although it shows an increase compared to 1.9% of the entire 2024). For the next 30 January, Mimit convened the National Table on the automotive sector, involving the regions affected by the production of vehicles, companies, trade associations and trade unions.
The aim of the meeting will be to share the role of our country in the process of reviewing the European Regulation on CO2 emissions, on the examination of the recent proposal for modification of the European Commission and on the deepening of industrial policy measures for the coming years. In this regard, Unrae, together with other associations of the supply chain, emphasizes the importance that further and more effective opportunities for interlocution with the institutions can be opened, in particular on strategic issues such as the taxation of corporate cars, which represents a decisive lever for the market.
“The automotive table is a useful moment of comparison, but the current interaction modes limit its operational effectiveness; We therefore need to support this tool for more targeted, continuous and decision-oriented dialogue,” the President continues. “In addition, on this occasion, we also trust to obtain as soon as possible concrete information from Mimit regarding the Ecobonus intended for the purchase of new commercial vehicles, which will use the residual funds of the previous years, the issue on which the administration has been engaged for a long time,” concludes Pietrantonio.
