ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The industrial vehicle market has a growth of 2.3% in February, with 2.329 registrations compared to 2.276 registered in the same month of 2025. The heavy vehicle segment, with a mass of 16 t or more, shows a positive trend, marking a +5.8% on a monthly basis. Good performance also for light vehicles up to 6 t, which grow by 20.8%. In decline, however, vehicles with mass between 6,01 and 15,99 t, which record a contraction of 29,0%. Since the beginning of the year, 5,000 new vehicles were registered, up 3.0% compared to the first two months of 2025, when the recordings were 4.854. “The year opened with a moderately positive trend, in line with the forecasts indicating, for 2026, a substantial market stability. The hope is to maintain levels at least in line with 2025 and, possibly, to replicate the performances recorded in the two years 2023-2024. In perspective, we welcome the possibility of being able to count on multiannual support instruments, which have long been requested by UNRAE, which allow enterprises to plan with greater certainty the investments necessary for the renewal of a circular park still particularly old”, says Giovanni Dattoli, President of the Section Industrial Vehicles of UNRAE.
“As part of the energy transition, Italy continues to take a significant gap with other major European markets, making it increasingly urgent to support structural interventions. Priorities include the development of high-power charging infrastructures (over 350 kW), the reduction of energy costs and the introduction of measures that favour the use of low and zero-emission vehicles, for example through a revision of the highway toll system in line with the Eurovignette Directive,” Dattoli continues. “In this path, it is essential to take an approach based on technological plurality, enhancing all the solutions available for decarbonization – from electric to biofuels and HVO, to bioLNG – and ensuring, on the path to European decarbonization goals, an adequate degree of flexibility in the application of targets, so as to accompany in a realistic and sustainable way the huge investments of Constructors and the evolution of the sector,”.
