Unrae, slows the growth of trailers: in February to +0.4%

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The trailer and semi-trailers market recorded a substantial stability in February (+0.4%), with 1,214 registered units compared to the 1,209 of the same month last year, highlighting slowing signals that strengthen the concerns already expressed by Unrae. However, the balance sheet of the first bimester remains positive, with an increase of +6.4% and a total of 2.405 units versus 2,260 of 2025, confirming the increase from the order portfolio accrued over last year.

“The setback registered in February confirms the risk of a reversal of trend and a market contraction in the coming months. We feel urgent, therefore, a rapid implementation of the Extraordinary Fund of 590 million euros, fundamental to support the sector and avoid a ‘waiting effect’ with possible negative repercussions on orders and investments”, underlines Michele Mastagni, Coordinator of the Group Trailers, Semirimorchi and Allocations of UNRAE.

In recent days, the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport has published the counters regarding the contributions booked with the click-day of 17 December: the available resources, pairs to 3,8 million euros for the renewal of trailers and semi-trailers, have been exhausted in a few seconds.

“The data on incentives, exhausted in just four seconds, are unequivocally evidenced as, in the presence of adequate support measures, is strong and concrete the propensity of the enterprises to invest in the renewal of the park by means of new generation,” Mastagni says. On the regulatory level, the Association reiterates the need for a rapid completion of the regulatory framework in order to ensure the circulation of sail complexes up to 18.75 meters and allow the registration of c.d. “Eurotrailer”, fundamental means to increase the efficiency and sustainability of freight transport. “The solutions developed by the Constructors represent a concrete signal of the commitment to support innovation and the evolution of logistics in Italy: in this context, the extended trailer vehicles would significantly contribute to the improvement of the productivity of transport companies, favouring an increasingly safe and modern system,” Mastagni concludes.
