ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “I spoke with the Secretary of State Marco Rubio and with our Ambassador to Caracas. The EU is carefully monitoring the situation in Venezuela.” He writes on X the high representative of European Union foreign policy Kaja Kallas. “The EU has repeatedly stated that Maduro has no legitimacy and has defended a peaceful transition. Under all circumstances, the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations must be respected. We ask for moderation – he added – The security of EU citizens in the country is our highest priority.”.
RUSSIA CONDANNA ATTACCO USA “ATTO AGGRESSIONE ARMATA”
“This morning the United States committed an act of armed aggression against Venezuela. This is deeply worrying and condemnable.” This is what we read in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry that adds: “The claims used to justify such actions are unsustainable. The ideological hostility has triumphed over entrepreneurial pragmatism and the desire to build relationships based on trust and predictability. In the current situation, it is fundamental above all to prevent further escalation and focus on finding a way out through dialogue. We believe that all partners who may have reciprocal problems should seek solutions through dialogue. We are ready to support them in this. Latin America must remain the peace zone that declared it to be in 2014. And Venezuela must be guaranteed the right to determine its destiny without any destructive external intervention, not to mention military interventions. We reaffirm our solidarity with the Venezuelan people and our support for the path of its Bolivarian leadership, aimed at protecting the national interests and the sovereignty of the country. We support the declaration of Venezuelan authorities and Latin American leaders on the urgent call of a UN Security Council meeting. The Russian Embassy in Caracas is operating normally, given the current situation, and is in constant contact with the Venezuelan authorities and Russian citizens who are in Venezuela. At the moment there are no injuries among Russian citizens.”.
IRAN CONDANNA ATTACCO USA “GRAVE VIOLAZIONE SOVRANITÀ NAZIONALE”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reads in a note, “ firmly condemns the US military attack against Venezuela and the serious violation of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. The U.S. military attack against Venezuela is a clear violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and of the fundamental norms of international law, in particular Article 2(4) of the Charter which prohibits the use of force, and is a striking example of “act of aggression” which must be immediately and explicitly condemned by the United Nations and all States concerned with the rule of law, peace and international security. The military aggression of the United States against an independent member of the United Nations constitutes a serious violation of regional and international peace and security, whose consequences affect the entire international system and will further expose the UN Charter-based system to erosion and destruction. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while recalling Venezuela’s intrinsic right to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and the right to self-determination, underlines the legal and moral responsibility of all governments and international organizations, in particular of the United Nations and its Security Council, to immediately end the illegal aggression of the United States against Venezuela and emphasizes the need to take the necessary measures to call to respond to.
SPAGNA, SANCHEZ “RISPETTARE DIRITTO E PRINCIPI CARTA ONU”
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking for the situation in Venezuela, in a coordinated way with our partners of the European Union and the countries of the region. Spain invites de-escalation and moderation to always implement international law and the principles of the UN Charter. In this sense, Spain is willing to provide its services to achieve a peaceful and negotiated solution to the current crisis.” So Spanish Premier Pedro Sanchez in an official note spread by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Madrid. “Spain remembers that it did not recognize the results of the elections of 28 July 2024 and has always adopted initiatives to find a democratic solution for Venezuela. He also acknowledges that he has welcomed, and will continue to do so, tens of thousands of Venezuelans who have tried to abandon their country for political reasons and who are willing to help in the search for a democratic, negotiated and peaceful solution for the country,” concludes Sanchez.
