Vance in Pakistan for negotiations, I denied the release of frozen Iranian goods

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – US Vice President JD Vance arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan, where negotiations will be held between the US and Iran after six weeks of conflict. Vance leads the US delegation, composed, among others by the special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump. The Iranian delegation, led by President Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, arrived last night.

The United States did not agree to the release of any frozen Iranian property. A high-ranking U.S. official told CBS, complaining about the news from the media. US Vice President J.D. Vance had a bilateral meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, but negotiations have not yet begun and agreements have not been discussed.

According to the Iranian agency Tasnim, the Iranian delegation to Islamabad, led by the President of the Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and also, among others, the Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, met Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Previously the Iranian delegation had met with the military leaders of Pakistan, a mediator country in talks with the United States for the end of the Middle East war which has been going on for six weeks. According to Tasnim, in today’s meetings the Iranian delegation intends to assess the position of the United States and respect for the commitments made, after which a decision will be taken on the negotiations with the United States.
